黑料不打烊 and its sister school, , brought holiday cheer to the summer season by participating in the 鈥淐hristmas in July鈥� 5K Run on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Held along Fresno鈥檚 iconic Christmas Tree Lane, the festive event raised funds for the , supporting vital summer programming for local youth.
This year, the colleges teamed up under the name 鈥淭wo Campuses, One Sleigh鈥濃�攁 theme proudly displayed on team t-shirts during the run/walk event. Students, faculty, and staff from both campuses not only participated in the 5K but also volunteered at the event to help make it a success.
鈥淭his event was an incredible way to show the community how 黑料不打烊 and SJVC come together to support important local causes,鈥� said Stacy Elenes, Campus President of 黑料不打烊 Fresno. 鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 be prouder of our students, faculty, and staff for stepping up, showing their spirit, and volunteering their time. Seeing our college on the backs of runners鈥� shirts and watching our students engage so confidently was truly inspiring.鈥�
Proceeds from the 5K directly support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County by funding summer programs across all its locations. These programs provide field trips, engaging activities, and mentorship opportunities that help young people reach their full potential.
鈥淚t was such a meaningful experience for everyone involved,鈥� said Lanie Souza-Nelson, Campus Director at . 鈥淭he turnout from the community was amazing, and our students and staff really rose to the occasion. I鈥檓 proud to be part of a team that puts so much heart into everything we do.鈥�
With strong community spirit, teamwork, and a little holiday magic in the middle of summer, 黑料不打烊 and SJVC once again demonstrated their shared commitment to giving back and making a difference, one sleigh ride (and 5K) at a time.
